Dr. Margie R. Recalde
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and Fellow of American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O.)
Dr. Margie Recalde is a passionate optometrist who fulfilled her dream of owning Lifetime Optometric, a practice she purchased from Dr. Michael Hayashi. She and her team are dedicated to providing exceptional eye care with a warm and welcoming approach, continuing Dr. Hayashi’s legacy of “modern eyecare…old-fashioned caring.”
Dr. Recalde specializes in treating dry eyes, and is a Dry Eye Specialist and speaker for dry eyes. She is the first doctor in Central California to offer Lipiflow, an advanced treatment for meibomian gland disease (MGD), a leading cause of dry eye disease. She is also the first doctor in the region to provide Optilight, an FDA-approved Intense Pulsed Light Therapy for MGD-related dry eye disease. Dr. Recalde’s goal is to help patients improve their vision and overall eye health, so they can enjoy a lifetime of optimal vision.
In addition to dry eye treatment, Dr. Recalde provides comprehensive eye care for all patients, using Lifetime Optometric’s innovative technology to detect and treat eye diseases such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and keratoconus. Her well-trained staff ensures that each exam is smooth and efficient, and after the exam, opticians help patients choose eyeglasses that best fit their needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Recalde earned her Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Optometry degree with honors from the University of California, Berkeley, after attending California State University, Fresno. She further enhanced her clinical skills by completing a post-doctorate ocular disease residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Fresno. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an active member of the Central California Optometric Society, California Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. Dr. Recalde is passionate about giving back to those in need, and has provided free vision screenings and eyeglasses in Peru, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
