Dr. Margie R. Recalde

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and Fellow of American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O.)

Photo of Dr. Margie RecaldeSeveral years ago, Dr. Recalde pursued her dream of owning her own optometric office and purchased Lifetime Optometric from Dr. Michael Hayashi. Although Dr. Hayashi has retired, his approach of “modern eyecare…old-fashioned caring” still holds true today. Dr. Recalde and the staff at Lifetime Optometric are thankful to each patient for giving Lifetime Optometric an opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

Dr. Recalde has a special interest in treating dry eyes which led her to become a Dry Eye Specialist as well as a speaker for dry eyes. Dr. Recalde is the first doctor in Central California to provide Lipiflow, an advanced treatment option for meibomian gland disease (MGD) which is a major cause of dry eyes disease. She also is excited to be the first and only doctor in Central California to offer Optilight, the first and only Intense Pulsed Light Therapy that is FDA Approved for treating dry eye disease due to MGD. The goal is to help patients feel and see better so they may enjoy a lifetime of healthy vision.

In addition, Dr. Recalde provides comprehensive eye care for all patients. With Lifetime Optometric’s innovative technology, the doctors detect eye diseases such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and keratoconus. She also has well-trained staff that makes the exam smooth and efficient. After the exam, the opticians help patients choose eyeglasses to fit their needs and lifestyle.

Dr. Recalde attended California State University, Fresno and later graduated with honors with a Bachelors of Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley. To enhance her clinical skills, Dr. Recalde completed a post-doctorate ocular disease residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Fresno. She dedicated her commitment to lifelong learning and became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is an active member of the Central California Optometric Society, California Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. She enjoys giving back to those in need by providing free vision screenings. Internationally, she has provided free eyeglasses in Peru, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
